Duane and Alice Raymond, and our six year old daughter Zoe have selected the name of Adelgrau for our family of Weimaraners. Translated from German, Adelgrau means noble-gray.
We have had Weimaraners in our life since 1978, and our first litter was born in 1984. We usually have one to two litters per year at most, and only when we expect the litter to exceed the quality of the parents. Occasionally we will have a pick of litter puppy available from one of our champion stud dogs. Our puppies are raised on the first floor of our home, typically in the living room close to our daily family activity. We have found this early socialization beneficial to the pups when they go to their new homes as they have already have heard the vacuum cleaner, the television, and the ringing of the phone. This also allows us an opportunity to observe the pup's personality. We also start their house training by taking them outside to potty. We have belonged to the Weimaraner Club Of America for twenty years, the Weimaraner Association Of Canada for ten years, and the Canadian Kennel Club for fourteen years. We have produced many champions in the U.S.A. and Canada. In addition to conformation, we have years of experience and success in hunting tests, field trials, WCA rating tests, obedience, temperment tests, and canine good citizen tests. All of our breeding stock has been certified free of hip dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Our dogs pedigrees are listed throughout our website, and the OFA has an online database where you can verify the OFA status of any dog by using their search online option. Our participation in Rescue includes involvement in the The Weimaraner Rescue Quilt Raffle, and maintaining the available dogs section for Michigan Weimaraner Rescue. |
